My thoughts on Christmas and New Year's.

It’s been awhile since the last blog. That should give you an idea on how busy it’s been. I feel like life is almost back to normal.
Since Christmas just passed, I share on this a little. While I love what Christmas stands for and that people seem alittle more receptive to the Gospel, I personally don’t like all else that surrounds Christmas plus I worship Christ equally ALL 365 days a year. All the commercialization, and all the debt people put themselves under, all the busy-ness, etc. Makes me happy to be past this commercialized day.

Then, the ridiculous take that some businesses have chosen to take “Christ” out of Christmas. As some say they don’t want to “offend” anyone so “Happy Holiday” is chosen over the “offensive”, “Merry Christmas”. Give me a break. I find few people (a matter of fact, almost none) who are offended by “Merry Christmas”.
(I guess this by some may be called "my vent" – LOL!)

A little boast on my town, before moving off this subject. Our little town of Kane chose to “Keep Christ in Christmas” and encouraged businesses to do so. Our December 24 town newspaper read in big letters across the top “Merry Christmas”. Praise God for that!

That being said. We are almost ready to go into a new year. As you could probably guess I’m not a big fan of “new years resolutions, as anytime God speaks to use to change something is the best time to do it. But that being said, if you’re like me you make look back at 2007 and see some areas you have fallen short in. I know I have! So though I try to make changes in my life as the Lord speaks to me. There are areas that still (or again) needing change.
So as I reflect on the year, I do want 2008 to be a better year for my walk with the LORD. With God’s help I am praying that 2008 will be a more God Glorifying year in my relationship to the LORD.

We’ll as we close this blog, choose to serve God with your whole heart, like you never have before. May God bless you on your Journey as we enter into 2008.

1 Corinthians 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

1 Peter 4:11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Romans 11:36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory forever. Amen.

As we enter December...Preaching the whole gospel

We had a nice Thanksgiving with some members in our Church.

Then last Wednesday we started our new series on Proverbs.

On Friday we had our fellowship meeting and discussed our vision for the church, always knowing it is "subject to change, without notice by the Holy Spirit. We must always be flexible to the Holy Spirits leading, and should He reveal to us anything we are doing or planning in our own efforts to change to His plan immediately!

We had a good turn out at Saturday's service - PTL!

Sunday morning we started a new series on "THE TABERNACLE". So with the holidays and 2 new series started I am quite busy to say the least.

So as to not leave the impression that I jump from mountain top experience to mountain top experience. The last month or so has had it's trying moments.

As do most months - LOL! But for the most part I want to blog on what God is doing and what glorifies Him. But none of us are exempt from trials and tribulations.

I still battle with my call to overseas missions, and my call to Kane, PA. Not that I doupt my call here (Kane) as God has shown me this is the missionfield He has called me to until further notice, but sometimes it seems like the American church as a whole is a feel good gospel. As much as some people want to hear that message, it is not the whole gospel. Rather desert, and does not make for healthy Christians. If I ever get to preaching what people want to hear, instead of what they need to hear, may I be smart enough to step down from ministry.

I want to preach the whole gospel (which will occasionally include desert). I believe church is to be a time of refreshing, renewal, and repentance. Or as II Tim 4:2 and Titus 2:15 puts it, it is a time of reprove, rebuke, and exhort.

To close today's blog, I would like to include a YouTube clip which may or may not be made by Christians but it sure hits home, the two prevailing views of Christians. I hope it gives you something to think about.

Is your Christianity more like this guy (right track)
or this young ladies (an unhealthy view)?

Jesus is Coming soon are we ready!
