My thoughts on Christmas and New Year's.

It’s been awhile since the last blog. That should give you an idea on how busy it’s been. I feel like life is almost back to normal.
Since Christmas just passed, I share on this a little. While I love what Christmas stands for and that people seem alittle more receptive to the Gospel, I personally don’t like all else that surrounds Christmas plus I worship Christ equally ALL 365 days a year. All the commercialization, and all the debt people put themselves under, all the busy-ness, etc. Makes me happy to be past this commercialized day.

Then, the ridiculous take that some businesses have chosen to take “Christ” out of Christmas. As some say they don’t want to “offend” anyone so “Happy Holiday” is chosen over the “offensive”, “Merry Christmas”. Give me a break. I find few people (a matter of fact, almost none) who are offended by “Merry Christmas”.
(I guess this by some may be called "my vent" – LOL!)

A little boast on my town, before moving off this subject. Our little town of Kane chose to “Keep Christ in Christmas” and encouraged businesses to do so. Our December 24 town newspaper read in big letters across the top “Merry Christmas”. Praise God for that!

That being said. We are almost ready to go into a new year. As you could probably guess I’m not a big fan of “new years resolutions, as anytime God speaks to use to change something is the best time to do it. But that being said, if you’re like me you make look back at 2007 and see some areas you have fallen short in. I know I have! So though I try to make changes in my life as the Lord speaks to me. There are areas that still (or again) needing change.
So as I reflect on the year, I do want 2008 to be a better year for my walk with the LORD. With God’s help I am praying that 2008 will be a more God Glorifying year in my relationship to the LORD.

We’ll as we close this blog, choose to serve God with your whole heart, like you never have before. May God bless you on your Journey as we enter into 2008.

1 Corinthians 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

1 Peter 4:11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Romans 11:36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory forever. Amen.

As we enter December...Preaching the whole gospel

We had a nice Thanksgiving with some members in our Church.

Then last Wednesday we started our new series on Proverbs.

On Friday we had our fellowship meeting and discussed our vision for the church, always knowing it is "subject to change, without notice by the Holy Spirit. We must always be flexible to the Holy Spirits leading, and should He reveal to us anything we are doing or planning in our own efforts to change to His plan immediately!

We had a good turn out at Saturday's service - PTL!

Sunday morning we started a new series on "THE TABERNACLE". So with the holidays and 2 new series started I am quite busy to say the least.

So as to not leave the impression that I jump from mountain top experience to mountain top experience. The last month or so has had it's trying moments.

As do most months - LOL! But for the most part I want to blog on what God is doing and what glorifies Him. But none of us are exempt from trials and tribulations.

I still battle with my call to overseas missions, and my call to Kane, PA. Not that I doupt my call here (Kane) as God has shown me this is the missionfield He has called me to until further notice, but sometimes it seems like the American church as a whole is a feel good gospel. As much as some people want to hear that message, it is not the whole gospel. Rather desert, and does not make for healthy Christians. If I ever get to preaching what people want to hear, instead of what they need to hear, may I be smart enough to step down from ministry.

I want to preach the whole gospel (which will occasionally include desert). I believe church is to be a time of refreshing, renewal, and repentance. Or as II Tim 4:2 and Titus 2:15 puts it, it is a time of reprove, rebuke, and exhort.

To close today's blog, I would like to include a YouTube clip which may or may not be made by Christians but it sure hits home, the two prevailing views of Christians. I hope it gives you something to think about.

Is your Christianity more like this guy (right track)
or this young ladies (an unhealthy view)?

Jesus is Coming soon are we ready!

Great weekend services with Pastor Babu from India

On Friday we showed "The Hiding Place" movie (about Corrie Ten Boom) - What a blessing! Many tearly eyes, and many touched hearts.

Pastor Babu

It was great to have 4 days with Pastor Babu, he gave his testimony at our church on Saturday and preached an awesome message on Sunday. Our turn out was low but those who came were richly blessed. With an annointed speaker like Pastor Babu it should have been packed. During his 4 day stay I prayed we would have some snow. I wanted Pastor Babu to experience snow. He experienced snow about 3-4 inches during his stay. But the cold was more than he wanted to experience. I'll miss him and hope to get to India in 2009. With his 30+ years of experience in the ministry (which includes starting 106 churches and orphanage, widows home, and much more. Yet he stays a humble man. So he is looked at to me as one of my spiritual leaders in my life.

We'll today is THANKSGIVING Day, so I'll close by wishing you all a JESUS BLESSED THANKSGIVING

Inmate prays prayer of Salvation in Jail and more...

Been quite an exciting week. The "Women's Gather" on Saturday went well. Many were touched. One in particular was a girl in her late teens/early 20's.

Then we had some good weekend services followed by a wedding for a couple from our fellowship. Bob and Selene were married, myself officiating.

It was quite a turn out so it also gave us ideas on how to handle an increase in seating people for the future growth of our church.

Then this Wednesday while ministering at the jail/prison I had a new woman who wanted to see me. When she came in I knew her as a woman that attended our church awhile back. God had given me such a heart for her, yet we couldn't seem to reach her. I always felt she was seeking the "truth" but often in the wrong placesWhen she came into the jail greeting area she was weeping and crying out for help and and she knew she needed Jesus. I asked if she would pray to give Jesus her life (as LORD and SAVIOR), she wanted to, we prayed, God moved and now we were both weeping. .
Then we laid our hands on top of each other through the glass (since I could not touch her through the glass) and we prayed (and cried somemore) and I prayed God would fill her with the Holy Spirit and move mightly in here life. WORDS CAN NOT ADEQUATELY DESCRIBE THE AWESOMENESS OF GOD AT THIS TIME! Thank you for using me as an instrument in this womans life.

Then, I get home there was a message that a prisoner who just got out last week had called me at home. So great to hear from them AFTER they are free.

And then after church a girl that I had ministered in prison called to express her joy in being released (freed) today. Again I was touched as this girl could have just gone on with her life, but she called to share her joy with me That touched me!!!

And I excitingly wait Pastor Babu's arrival in Kane today from INDIA. He will be with us for 4 days - PTL! He will speak once at another church in Kane and then twice at our church. I am praying God use him mightily.

Well I need to run - I'm busy for Jesus and loving it!

It's November already!!! Also "THE REVIVAL HYMN"

Praise the LORD! As usual it has been busy since my last blog. So I haven’t had much opportunity to blog. Our church is doing good. But prayer is always needed and welcome.

As for Christian Pool Players Assoc. (CPPA) it is in great need of financial support. We still function, but hope to do more with CPPA as the finances allow. We still had many hits in the month of October on our website:
Avg. 332 hits per day with an avg. of 32 visitors a day
(1021 visitors for the month of October).

BibleFood Devotional has been quiet as I haven’t sent any devotions out in quite some time. But I really plan too :-) We still had many hits in the month of October on our website:
Avg. 1340 hits per day with an avg. of 120 visitors a day (3723 visitors for the month of October).

This Saturday we have our annual “Women’s Gathering” – Cassie Dunne who worked with Teen Mania/Aquire The Fire for the past year, will be our speaker. She is an excited on fire young woman, and I believe the women are in for a blessed time.

Then this Sunday after service I will be doing a wedding ceremony – PTL!

Prison Ministry of Wednesdays has been going good. I saw 9 people Wednesday - PTL!, of which 3 were new people. Some of the original ones I went to see are gone now and 2 that I visited this week will be gone by next week Wednesday. That part is a little hard. You get close and they are moving on with their lives, or going to a federal prison or a halfway house. But for as long as God leaves this door open I shall go minister at the prison/jail (the facility holds approx. 100+ inmates).

In closing today’s blog. I would like to say lately, my heart has been stirring for myself and for our church body that we all need to get closer to Jesus. I believe time is short and of the essence, and personally I pray to see a move of God in our town and prayerfully across the USA. One more time LORD, one more time!

Please view this 36 minute clip called "The Revival Hymn".

Heading home to Kane, PA in a couple days

We’ll our change of atmosphere by coming down to North Carolina is winding down. We will be returning home to Kane, PA in a couple days, and then jump back into our mission field full-time in Kane. I have been able to do some research for my next two sermon series for Sunday (The Tabernacle of Moses) and Wednesday (Proverbs). Both of those series will start in November. We are currently finishing up Galatians on Sundays and our “Encounters with Jesus” series on Wednesdays. Saturdays we are not in a series so still seeking God for direction on what to teach on Saturdays.

Also, I have been able to update our church and Kane site (check it out www.kanepa.org). It’s not complete but at least it’s up-to-date.

And most importantly I have been able to finish some reading, relax, spend time with my wife and the most time with my older brother Tom than I have in years, so that has been very meaningful.

I will continue to seek God for more direction with my life and ministry(s). I just want to be in touch with my LORD so my vision is really not “my vision” but “GOD’S VISION”.

So, praise God for this time to break away from my normal schedule and catch up on some other ministerial areas and family that have been put aside due to lack of time.

I’m looking forward to getting back to Kane (and the pastorate), but it sure was good to have this time to catch up on things. Thank you Jesus!

Enjoying time in North Carolina

It has been a good week. The LORD has been good in growing our church. This has slowly but truly been happening spiritually, financially and numerically.

Our church had a missionary couple (Rick & Donna Buddemeier - www.crossworld.org) speak this Saturday and Sunday at our church, they were very good on the overall importance of world missions.

Then Monday, my wife, Joyce and I headed for Walkertown, North Carolina (my brother’s) to take two weeks to slow down our lives a little bit, and catch up on some things.

Just a short distance before reaching my brother’s home our front driver’s side tire blew (literally blew up – never had that happen). Thank the LORD, Joyce (who was driving) didn’t lose any control of the car.

Please pray that the LORD will physically strengthen both of us while down here, as we are very tired physically.

Also pray for me to accomplish much as I seek God’s direction in my life, and catch up on many ministry responsibilities with Go Proclaim Ministries (www.goproclaim.com) that have had to wait until now due to my responsibilities at our church.

Be blessed,
Jim

Parade day here in our town!

It has been a blessed last couple days, but not perfect. All of us will have trials throughout our lives. While I will sometimes share my hurts, pains, trials as I feel so led. So that you all don't think I go from blessing to blessing without any trials. But primarily I want to share the good things GOD is doing in my life.

Monday we had our best turnout at our Monday prayer meeting since taking the church here in Kane in 2005.

Today, I visited with 6 inmates at the prison that I minister at in PA.
It was hard to tell them I would not see them for 3 weeks as I will be away
in North Carolina for two weeks. Especially, since I started the prison ministry a few months ago I have not missed a week. But the were all very understanding.

Then tonight our church and clown ministry participated in the Kane Parade. We made about 65 packets of candy and tracts. My only regret was that I wasn't expecting the turnout that came out to the parade. We could have given 200-250 packets to kids. Next year we will be better prepared. But we had a chance to minister through the packets to 65 for that I rejoice, and prayerfully our presence in the parade will have ministered in a good way to some of our town people.

Then tonight, I get home and there is an e-mail of someone that wanted me to paint a room in their house (in Atlanta, GA as they did not know I moved to PA) as they said, "I have not had good experiences with any other painters, so I was sincerely hoping to find you again...You were the best!
WOW I was needing some encouragement!

Then it gets better, the sister of one of my close friends from my childhood and teen years contacted me by e-mail, and gave me the e-mail to contact my childhood friend. So that too was exciting to me!

I have learned to appreciate those close to me (even old friends). So this meant alot to me.

Do you need to be encouraged - Reach out to the LORD and He will do the most unbelievable things to encourage us.

I would like to close with this.
Twenty-six times in Psalm 136 we find these beautiful words, "For His mercy endureth forever." AMEN FOR THAT! I encourage you to read PSALM 136 today.

We'll I'll sign off for now. Until next time be blessed and be a blessing.

Excitement in our church!

It's been a while since my lost blog. Sure has been busy. It's all good - no complaints.

Prison ministry continues weekly, I see 6-8 inmates one on one every Wednesday. One who has recently got out is in our church, and has been quite an assest in helping the church in many ways. Build a wall, move furniture, invite people to church, painting, etc. Pray that this time the lures of the world will fail in drawing him. He also wants me to personally disciple him, pray for my time and wisdom to do that effectively.

We are a small church in a small town (meeting in what used to be "The Medicine Shoppe"), we have 2 services each weekend (one on Saturday PM, and one on Sunday AM). This week was the first time that we had 30 or more in both services. For our church that was exciting.

Also our weekly prayer meeting is well attended, and that excites me to have many coming to pray every week.

We are also excited about have Missionaries up this coming weekend to speak at the church.

Many exciting things are happening in our town and church. But anytime God is moving the devil often sticks up his ugly head. We have some "gossip" being passed around about me and some members in our church. Pray the LORD will stop those who are doing this.

Joyce and I will be going on a much needed break to Walkertown, NC which is not far from Winston-Salem or Greensboro for 2 weeks (October 8 - 22). While my wife, Joyce will have to work while there, and I have much work to catch up on for Go Proclaim Ministries (www.goproclaim.com) it will seem like a vacation compared to our schedule now. I also hope to spend some quality time seeking the LORD.

More can always be said - But for now I will say. TO GOD BE ALL GLORY! May we never forget to give Him all praise for apart from Him we can do nothing.

Until next time, be blessed!

Jim :-)

Great weekend service & today's my birthday

Today's my birthday, I'm 48 today!!! Never really pictured myself getting to this age. 50 is just around the corner. WOW! But as people say your only as old as you think :-) We'll I think quite young. A matter of fact sometimes I do things that only the young in body should do, and learn my lesson, by the price I pay - lol!
But I can say I am blessed that with years comes wisdom (or atleast it should). And through the years I have learned a few things, and hope as I get older that I will continue to grow in the wisdom of the LORD.

Also this weekend we had to powerful services. At our Saturday PM service I taught on "HUMILTY AND CASTING OUR CARES UPON THE LORD from I Pet.5:5-7. It was quite a touching service when we ended with people writing down their cares and then bring the slips of paper up front and feeding them through a shredder as I encouraged everyone to give their cares to the LORD and not take them back. Many were touched in this service and a few of us were brought to healthy tears as we casts our gares on the LORD.

Then, this morning's service the sermon was on Galatians 5:16-21. As we are going verse by verse through Galatians on Sunday's. This week was on the "WORKS OF THE FLESH", not the most comfortable subject to go over in a world where also anything goes (and where the church, as a whole, seems to be conforming to the world). Interestingly, we broadcast our services to the outside of our building by a speaker. It doesn't travel far (no noise ordinances broken). But as I was talking a man from across the street walked up to our church door and singled to me to turn down the speaker. We did (a little bit). It get's me thinking that while the world can blare their demonic music onto the streets, and we (Christians) have to put up with it. Yet, the world can not handle hearing the Bible (see I Cor 1:18). We plan to continue broadcasting our service to the streets, AND I'm believing that though we may get some negative responses, that God's Word will also pierce hard hearts in our town.

Tomorrow, our church will do our final prayer walk for this year. This week we will pray over the many bars in our little town, and that God will also use me to share Christ with many of those in these establishments as I play in the Pool league in the coming weeks and months.

Christ died for all, that includes those in these bars, so please pray God will use me in these places. It will be worth it even if one soul can be snatched out of satans hand and brought in to the family of God.

Good bless you all and keep in touch.

September 13 - Ministry update and more!

We'll it's been another busy week - But I Praise the LORD for how he is using me in this remote part of Pennsylvania. I can honestly say I don't miss the city life (Atlanta, GA), and love the slower more relaxed pace of my surroundings. But just like everywhere else, this area has some big problems. Hard drugs and alcoholism being a huge problem in this area, and also suicide. We just had a young man (early 20's) kill himself last week, this after his dad had had commited suicide in May of this year. So sad - I wish I could have had a chance to talk to people about Christ before making such a terrible decision as taking their lives.

We had our biggest turn out at Saturday evening service this past Saturday - PTL! We also have a speaker set up outside of our building broadcasting our services onto the streets for those walking by or sitting on a nearby bench.

Wednesday, I visited 8 prisoners, one a new person - PTL! Also, last week one inmate was released and we are helping him and he is attending our church. He is overwhelmed by the love our members have shown him and really wants to get grounded in the Bible - Pray that he will get well ground.

Also, Wednesday night we watched a video teaching by Ray Comfort, called "Hells Best Kept Secret" - I strongly recommend to you all to get the book or DVD of this teaching. I highly recommend it.

Pool league in our town started tonight (pools a big thing here), but I am not playing this week and will only sub as teams need me. This gives me the liberty to not play on weeks where my schedule dictates me to go in another direction. I have been asked to play on a team as a sub for next week. Pray that God will use me. I am hoping to meet more people by being a sub.

Tomorrow, I get ready for our weekend service, etc. That all for now. :-)

Salvation, Water baptisms, Prison Ministry, and other blessings!

I planned on writing a few times a week and here I am writting for the first time in 3 weeks.

I will try to blog small bits of information in the future which may help me blog more often.

We had a woman accept (trust in) Christ approx. 1 month

We'll on August 19th we had a water baptism service (immersion style) with 5 people getting baptized at Chapman Dam about 20-30 minutes from Kane.

It was a wonderful experience for us all (especially the 5 water baptized). We followed that by a church fellowship in one of the pavilions. It was a rainy day but we had all agreed rain or shine we would do the water baptism. So we all got atleast a little wet :-)

Also, prison ministry that was started in July has been going great. I go to the small prison every Wednesday for 3-5 hours and visit 6-8 inmates one at a time.

This week I helped one inmate on a short furlough see his baby born, and spend time with his fiancee (the baby's mother). Been a tiresome week running back and forth from prison, court, hospital but well worth it. I knew it was going to be a busy week, so I planned for it accordingly.

Also, one inmate I have been visiting is out and we (me and others in our church) are helping him get on his feet and grow with Jesus.

Pool (billiard league) starts next week - This is another ministry of mine. But due to my schedule I am only playing as a subsitute as I can not commit to every Thursday night.

As a sub they can move me around to various teams. I pray this gives me more opportunities to minister to more people in my community. Please, pray for this ministry too!

And praise the LORD I celebrated my wife's (Joyce) birthday on Tuesday, as did our church with Cake and pie at Wednesday service.

These are some of the many highlights of the past few weeks.

I sure would like your prayers as I continue to seek God's direction in the many ministries I am involved in, and learning to put God FIRST. Also, wisdom to know that AFTER PUTTING GOD FIRST, to know how to prioritize the ministry(s) in which God has placed me.

ALSO remember, there are lots of ways to stay in touch with me, which I feel is important for US.

Here are a few ways:

1. My Websites: http://www.kanepa.org/ (my church and town site)

http://www.goproclaim.com/ (overall view of my ministries)

God what's next...are you prepraring me (us)?

If I could say it this way: Something is happening in the spirit realm. I believe after some recent happenings that God is wanting to do something big in my life and others lives (I believe here in Kane,PA) and spread from there. That's my thinking from what has been happening in my life, my heart and in my recent dreams. I am NOT a follower of dreams, if not careful that can make you flacky, but I do believe God can speak to us through dreams.

This morning before getting up I first dreamed of a powerful service. But yet God's powerful presence made some uncomfortable and they left.

Then I dreamed another dream I felt lead to pray over our small gathering and
again God's presence was tangible. And one woman came with pillow and all to be "slain in the spirit" and she was. Not something I'm that comfortable with overall. Yeah, it can happen, but I personally don't believe it happens as much as we see in some circles. Also, I prayed for another man he started shaking and feel down (I believe the power of God was all over him) I could hardly stand myself, but some thought he was having a heart attack and went and got medical help. Just like at that communion service some left. I looked at the people and basically said, "see what happens when God moves!" It actually makes some uncomfortable, and feeling the need to leave. As I write this I think of the situation where yes did a miracle (of deliverance from demons) and instead of them being joyfully excited they ask Jesus TO LEAVE (Mark 5:17).

LORD help me to be your vessel, ALWAYS EXALTING THE BIBLE above ALL US (including dreams), but please help me to be obedient to the moving of your Holy Spirit whether it makes some uncomfortable or not. We need your HOLY SPIRIT so much, in my own life, in my church, and in our town and around our nation.

Also, I give You much thanks to you for the 2 kids, and 3 Adults who will be water baptized this Sunday, NOT for their salvation, as they are already saved, but as a public profession of their faith - PTL!

Also LORD thank you for the man across the country who has a vision about a Christian Youth Recreational Center and the possibilities of CPPA being involved in that.

Signing off for now! Jim :-)

A day of see God as our provider

Today (Thursday) was a fun day in see God as our provider both for our church and for us personally.

We had a woman in town (Kane) call us who was moving her family to Florida this week. She is a Christian woman, but we did not know her (she attends another church) but she some how knew we had a Christian book lending library in our church. So on her invitiation to come look at her books that she was giving away. We excitedly went over to see what Christian books she had. Now, I'm pretty picky what I read and what I allow into our church library. A matter of fact about a month ago I went to a ministers house who had 2-3 boxes of Christian books, I walked away with only 2 or 3 books (picky, picky - lol).

So today as I went to look at the books she had about 4-5 boxes of Christian books, and I ended up taking about 80% of them (probably about 125-150 books). Some of these were my favorite authors, and many, many good books.

As we were there she asked if we (Joy or I) needed a computer desk. The answer was YES! A matter of fact it was one item Joyce needed for her job and we couldn't find one she liked, or one in our price range. Here it was - given to us free!!! PTL! She also asked, if we needed some other items, we ended up leaving there with many items that were a blessing both to the church and to Joyce and I.

It was very much an encouragement in a relatively rough time in our life and the churches as far as needs. God met some of our needs and even threw in some of our "wants". Hallelujah!!!

An exciting week much happening!!!

SATURDAY our church had "Bible Wild" a 8 hour event from afternoon to early evening were our church band played lots of music, cooked over 100 hot dogs along with other food items. Birthed our "Clown Ministry" (with 6 clowns - 3 preteens, 2 teens and one adult). It also had the fun actity of balloon fights on a hot day. AND JUST A WHOLE LOT OF FUN.

Then Sunday morning I kept waking up on and off for about an hour and had the LORD speaking to me, things for my life and our church. BTW - I try to keep paper and pen next to my bed for this very reason. So those bedside notes ended up being my Sunday Morning sermon. Zech 4;6 & 7 being one of the key scriptures. Maybe someday I'll share more about that sermon. Then after the sermon we called people to come forward for prayer of salvation, healing, etc. some came forward and we prayed for healing and miracles in their lives and bodies. Then (I'll call her "K") K came forward to publically trust Jesus as her LORD and Savior. It was a touching moment many cried with K. So many great prayers answered in K coming to Christ. Above and beyond ALL we could ask or think, and I believe it is only the beginning.

Sunday Night I was to speak at Service in The Park, but due to rain we moved it to our church building. We had wonderful, wonderful worship primarily on our Holy God. It was awesome. Then I preached on "Our Steps are ordered of the LORD".

Monday night is prayer meeting, and periodically we do prayer walks. This time half stayed in the church and prayed while 5 went and prayed over two locations - The Mormon Church in town and the Jehovah's Witnesses Chruc in town, that God would free the members up from following mans teach, and believe the Bible alone and Salvation by faith and grace alone. And that we would share the love of Christ with them just like we do everyone else, as Jesus died for them all.

I haven't been able to sleep tonight, so have been reading "The Cross and the Switchblade" wihich changed my life over 30 year ago. Here I am picking it up
some thirty years later and again touching my life in a new way. Also seeing I had forgotten some awesome parts of this true life story. So AWESOME!!!

So now its almost 2:00 (EST) I will return to bed to pray and seek God until I fall asleep. Which I hope is soon as I have a big day ahead of me tomorrow.

In His Service,
Jim

Back in Kane, PA after weekend in Connecticut with family

Hi all,

Will try to blog atleast 3-6 times a week, but with being away and busy on my return here we are already up to Wednesday.

It was a great visit with family. We had around 20-25 show up. It was supposed to be an outdoor picnic but it rained, and rained, and rained. So we were all indoors, but even God worked in that. There were many highlights of the trip, but here I would like to mentioned two:
First, my niece Nicole is a new mother, so I go to see my great nephew Andrew (9 weeks old).
Secondly, my nephew David, now 20 years old was there, I have not seen him for 12 years so that was special too.

Today, we start our lease of the apartment above our storefront for needed space for Sunday School and Nursery. We need to trust God to faithful provide! Hallelujah!!!

Tomorrow I go to the prison to visit 3 men and 2 women - Pray for my ministry there.

We had two people join CPPA in the last week so that is always exciting to me.

This Saturday we are going to have a ministry "BIBLE WILD" in the park (all day) in the bordering town (James City, PA) ministering the love of Christ through song, food, clowns, tracts, etc. So prayer is needed for that.

Our church picnic will be August 19, and we will have our first Water Baptismal service, since my taking the pastorate at Community Fellowship - So that is exciting for me.

Psa 100:5
For the LORD [is] good; his mercy [is] everlasting; and his truth [endureth] to all generations.

So, I'll sign off now.

Visit to prison and family reunion and important info

Yesterday (Thursday) I was able to go minister to 5 prisons indivually (2 women, 3 men). All have been quite receptive. Personally I believe all were since in their desires for Christ. All are also reading their Bibles. One will be moving to another prison further way, so I will not be able to visit him as much. Also got my radio broadcast done for the evening, plus visits with ministers and members. A busy day. By the time I got home for good it was around 11:00 pm. So had dinner at 11:30 pm (I know that's not good to eat that late, but I sure was hungry).

Today, beside taking care of some routine church matters, I am planning to leave this afternoon for a family reunion with family in CT. I am looking forward to that as it has been awhile since seeing my family.

So, I'll sign off now. Have a good week to you all. Hope to get a devotion up on our web by next week.

Wednesday - Edifiying phone call...and journey continues

Yesterday afternoon after get up early in the morning I came home to get some rest and give my wife the car to take to "Women's Bible Study" which she teaches every Tuesday afternoon. Well I just get ready to rest and recoup a little when the phone rings, I really didn't want to pick it up as I was so tired, but I did, it was a young girl (19) who works with Teen Mania in Texas. Our church and some other Christians had met her at Aquire The Fire in Pittsburgh, Pa in early May. I was so touched by her life and zeal, that at that May gathering I asked if she would consider coming up to our church in the fall to share with our woman for our Annual Woman's Gathering (all day event - women only). She said she would pray about it. Long story short she is planning to come speak to our womans group. Yesterday, she just wanted to touch base with me, and have some phone fellowship. We talked for quite awhile and I believe we both got off the phone more encouraged in the LORD. It so blesses me to see the Youth and young adults in our nation who are sold out to Jesus.

I also read yesterday from a book on the subject of GENEROSITY, I think it was the best article on the subject - I look forward to sharing it with my church and you all in God's time :-)

Today was a great but routine day (if there is such a thing). More could be said, but I need to go and work on my radio message for Sunday.

Also, tomorrow I go minister one-to-one with some people in a nearby prison. This is a new ministry for me. Maybe, I'll get to share more on that with you all soon too.

God bless you all,
Jim

Welcome to my Journey

Jim’s blog originally written 7-24-07 4:00 am

I’ve been wanting to write a daily blog,
maybe this early morning is the start of it.
I will try to be careful with using names as
this will be posted for all to see.

I’m not a morning person, but when God wakes me at 3:00 and I can’t get back to sleep I figure it is a God thing.

First things first, Thank you Lord for this quiet, peaceful morning.

People on my heart that I lift now in prayer:

Ishfaq Boby – Protect him and anoint him even this day and at this moment in his ministry in Pakistan.

I lift up a new couple (Lord you know their names), help them to continue to grow in your Word and in obedience to you. It is exciting for me to see their hunger for God. Please use me to minister your truths to their lives.

I thank you especially for what you are doing with one of my members in her prison job (ministry). I lift her job up to you as she seeks guidance for more direction in the prison ministry. Also LORD you know prison ministry has always been way out of my comfort zone, yet I have just started ministering to two prisoners, help me to show them Christ, as they are seekers (or new believers). Help me to speak words from you when I see them this week.

Our church steps out in a couple weeks to rent upstairs apartment to help a member and to turn some of the space into needed Sunday School and Nursery rooms. This is definetly a step of faith as it requires more income. Also, we have stepped out in faith and are on the radio now. It too requires extra funds. From the natural standpoint the church will pay it’s bill’s but if anything would be effected it would be my parsonage allowance, and Joyce and I already need God’s help in that area as our income is quite low since our move to Kane, PA. We really have fought the temptation to have me work full-time in a secular job as we feel God has called me to full-time ministry, paid or not. We must ultimately trust Him as provider, and pray that He will speak to hearts to catch our vision for GPM (BF and CPPA) and also of our vison for Kane, PA and Community Fellowship.

So as I start this day these are the early morning thoughts and concerns I bring before my LORD.

I think I’ll stop this blog for now and spend some time in the Word (Bible) and prayer… Jim :-)
